The unprocessed folder now has uploads that are almost three months old. Is there a need for adding more volunteers to the team that take care of IF Archive?
Also, every time I’ve uploaded something for maybe the last 12 months or so, there’s some issue that makes the link to file contents not work correctly while the file is in unprocessed, Is there some service that’s not working correctly? (I click on the file name on the web page, and get a 404 page)
A bit tangential, sorry, but this was never worth creating a thread about, and this thread is in the same universe: in the unprocessed, there’s something called “Forest of Calamity”, dated April 3rd. I just want to say, to whomever it may concern, that it is missing the story file and any author contact information (so I couldn’t just privately let them know).
Hi! It is my job to make sure we have enough volunteers, and I have done a shit job of my job over the past four months. I apologize.
(I just filed a few January submissions, plus Iron ChIF 1, just to prove that we’re not all dead over here. However, I am not able to do this on a regular basis.)
Let me also pull in this comment from last month in the “tagging volunteers” thread:
The tagging work has also come to a halt, but the submission backlog is a higher priority right now.
I have just sent a notification on the IFTF volunteer Slack to check in with the current volunteer corps. If people there are able to get back to filing, great! If not, I will get back to this thread.

I’m interested in helping, but can’t start till May. (In about a week!)
I was already planning to examine what the IF Archive and IFDB were doing in terms of tagging as part of trying to check what works might only exist in WikiData (what CELL uses) versus IFDB and then compared to smaller archives like The NEXT over the summer anyway.
(I got confused by the “no DMs” setting and accidentally replied to this thread—oops!)
But since I’m already here: I also have some prior commitments to wrap up in the coming week(s), but I’d be interested in helping out with the Archive long-term if there’s any need!
