Forum server updated

I’ve just updated the forum server from Debian 9 to 12, which took a couple of hours. Sorry for the downtime. Let me know if anything doesn’t seem to be working as usual.

all works very fine as usual, even the green 1 circle on the balloon signalling that there’s new chat talk, which is stuck on the balloon since a fortnight (screenshot available upon request)

BTW, this very machine runs Debian 12, so I can be of help, if needed.

Best regards from Italy,
dott. Piergiorgio.

Kind of surprised anyone would be using such an old version of Debian on a web server and nothing important forced an upgrade before now. Granted, I’m using Debian testing and the Linux circles I hang out in are constantly complaining about how far behind Debian stable is.

One bit of weirdness I encountered today is that, for the last couple of months, I’ve been able to press two to jump between threads on the latest threads page using my screen reader’s quick navigation then press ctrl+enter to immediately open the thread in a new tab, but today I had to jump to the thread heading then tab to put focus on the thread link before the ctrl+enter would register.

Granted, this could be a bug on my end(again, running Debian testing), but I’m not sure of any changes from yesterday that might have caused this.

The forum software was also updated, which could have affected things. It’s quite possible they broke something with screen readers, I don’t think they test it very thoroughly.

Nothing vital appears to have been broken… as of yet. I did notice, however, that the long-standing bug I reported regarding the inability for screen reader users to view the list of people who have liked a post has still not been addressed.
