Maybe I should ease off chess for a while.
This game was rated 400. Quite low, indeed!
I would not worry too much about that low “level”. But I think pausing chess sometimes is good.
A mistake on move 14 yields this overwhelming position.
The question is, will you mate in 3? Or 4?
Based on this game, which I still won, albeit in roundabout way.
Looks like I’m back in form. This game is rated 1550.
I finished the game the long way, but there’s a beautiful mating sequences that I should’ve done.
Here’s the forced mate in 7 in all combos.
I lost with a very similar position. But I wasn’t frustrated because I had played quite well before I made this mistake.
The computer says the Queen is trapped, but playing different variations and I can only come up with a Rook and passed pawn advantage.
Here’s the actual game
Playing with computer, this is one possible variation. It’s clearly Mate in 8 (forced move)!
Sometimes I wonder if I’m addicted to crazy games. I did spend 54 seconds thinking about this move in a 2 minute game.
It’s got 3 great moves evaluation at the end.
White to mate in 23 moves (premove)!
The sequence is easy enough that I can claim “blindfold chess” from this position.
Hint: I’d sacrifice the Rook! So for the sequence to work, the King needs to capture the Rook when available. Not a problem when playing against a computer.
It’s been a long time since I use Queen Pawn opening. Looks good so far.
BxB is losing for Black, of course, but PxN is mate in 5!
Not bad for a 1+1 game.
Would you believe this could have been a draw? I lost all my pieces except the pawn pair vs Rook. Fortunately, Black’s endgame isn’t too good.
White to move and win! It only took me 4 seconds.
For the first diagram I would guess 1. c7
Yes. You got it.
When you want to win by sacrificing all your pieces so that instead of RxB mate in one, you do this check. BTW, the sequence is somewhat forced, so Mate in 20?
Here’s how I do it:
A revenge of the game that got me mated in castled position.
Sacrificing 2 pawns does the trick!
Yes, that Qh6 is a blunder. Had he checked my King, I’d have to resign!
Speaking of attacking the castled King…
It’s certainly an exciting game with a brilliant.
Look! No pawn is lost!
Castling is overrated. The game was mostly even until this blunder, and then I managed to box the King and won via pawn breakthrough.
And yes, that’s my King up the board #Kingpusher
Gaining small advantages. It’s how you slowly squeeze out the position like a slow moving python.
Really smooth progression. I even skip taking in the Bishop on move 22 and 23.
