What's one positive/neutral thing that's happened today?

Really happy to hear this, @fos1 !

But, uh, if you got sick as well, are you okay?

The art of ‘yes, and?’ and rule of funny continues to rule over the Goncharov Pals TTRPG table.

I finished putting together a silly little birthday card for @pinkunz since his birthday is coming up quite soon! Also, I found a nice cover of a song I like quite a lot.

I had so much fun playing the Goncharov TTRPG with Manon, Autumn, and Jinx- there was quite the serendipitous moment where I had mentioned a character of mine named Val, but it turns out there’s a fandom character named Valery who is Katya’s brother, and Jinx thought that I had machinations and schemes for him- which, I didn’t, but the art of ‘yes and…?’ has led to me sort of passively brainstorming about all the shenanigans I can get Andrey and my OCs into.

Sure, why not, sudden KGB agent hunting down Goncharov and Katya into the mix- and he and Andrey were involved in some way, because the absolutely convoluted love square thing of Andrey hitting on Goncharov and Goncharov accidentally flirting back with Andrey and thinking he’s having an affair with Katya, while Katya is busy making mutual moon eyes at Sofiya wasn’t already messy enough, hahaha.

Also, Goncharov pondering briefly whether to chuck the can at Theodore’s head was really funny. Manon’s pizza order is still so cursed… I’m really happy our table is playing again, and we seem to have worked out a time slot that works for everyone involved. I missed it over the winter holidays! And I look forward to our future shenanigans, Goncharov or otherwise. :sparkling_heart:

One of my favourite things about the IF community has been getting to know the people involved on the scene. (Chat has been great for that. Thanks so much, Hanon!) There’s some really lovely people here- brilliant conversationalists, talented writers, wicked smart programmers: but above all, I’ve really come to appreciate the warmth and kindness in this community. I had a wonderful conversation late last night that, I think, pretty much anywhere else online, would have devolved into an absolute cesspit, (religion does tend to get quite divisive!) that went smashingly, which was quite interesting given the diversity of experiences at the table. It was cool to see that everyone could still remember the person behind the screen, and how genuinely kind people can be towards one another.

This is a great place. I’m happy to be even a small part of it.

Technically my order is the Hawaiian drenched in hot sauce, or a Four Season, or a Goat Cheese one.
But here is what my husband introduced me to (which is actually nice, somehow)

The order

Tuna from a can and tangerine from a can.

The back story

His family would do pizza night, where they would get a base and everyone would put what ever they wanted on their side. They could experiment and try weird combination. The rule was that they had to finish whatever they created. Tangerine and Tuna ended up being his favourite

And yes, it has made some Italians cry.

Incredibly cursed. Yet so tempting…

In the right balance, it is the Surf version of the Hawaiian.
Got the salty and the sweet with a bit of tangy.

Put on some nice PJs: all pink! Which means I’m rocking My Melody slippers, tie-dye white and pastel pink sweatpants, a My Melody in a witch costume t-shirt, and a little pale pink satin scrunchie for my hair when it’s dry (currently just on my wrist.) Nice and cozy and settled in for working on some interactive fiction…

I really like doing relationship diagrams for ongoing roleplay verses or TTRPG campaigns. Here’s one for the Goncharov pals (Theodore and Joel are two of my OCs who I just inserted into the universe.) I play Andrey, Theodore, and Joel. Manon plays Goncharov. Jinx plays Sofiya. Autumn plays Katya. We have no clue who is going to play Valery in the upcoming session, but Jinx mentioned wanting to write some of him in the introduction post.

You should have put “Groncharov” under his name :joy:

Hahahaha, I should have. Out of everyone on the board, Joel is the most relatable to me. He’s just happy to be here. Mr. Golden Retriever energy 9000.

Played The Quiet Year with some friends; we didn’t manage to get through Autumn (the game is divided into Summer, Spring, Autumn, and Winter) but still had a lot of fun. I’d give it a blanket positive recommendation to anybody who’s comfortable with free-form roleplaying.

I had pretty much the whole day free to code today

Which was great, as today’s room turned out to be much more complex than expected. Really pleased with it though!

Been chewing a chunk of my favourite bubble gum, and fantastically cracked my jaw. Audibly, it made a girl in front of me turn around briefly in surprise. I have a lot of issues with mine clicking or grinding and being generally sore because of clenching my jaw from stress and in my sleep, so it always feels good to pop it back into alignment.

Also, caught the first bus and door and elevator today. Really good series of coincidental lineups en route to class today.
