In my concept of IF, THINK is related to the character, PONDER is a metaverb related to the player.
ex:

Perhaps you ought to think about the parts…
THINK ABOUT PARTS
mhm… one looks suspiciously specular to the other. Oh ! they actually justapoxe together and the carving on both form the words YOU SOLVED THIS PUZZLE
(I admit that is a very lame example, but I hope illustrates decently enough the concept…)
