Use the player's imagination as a very key tool

The topic title is a quote from a Sid Meier keynote at GDC 2010.

This part of the presentation basically describes how interactive fiction / text adventure games work in general. I thought it was interesting that he talked about it in the context of a useful way to save money when working on a AAA game, and credits the imagination with being more powerful than a library of expensive AV assets.

basically Sid is saying in long words what I curtly describe as “the brain is the most powerful GPU available”
