Unpleasant topic in general

(CW: blood and gore)

discussing in general the unpleasant topics, and tackling them from the “EU side” of the perspective of unpleasantness (that is, blood and gore) I start revealing a major change of program & narrative in Isekai

Originally, Isekai was intended to have a prologue, scrapped Oct.7, 2023 for reasons that will be soon sadly very clear:

The “nameless, faceless” PC isn’t an AGNFCAAP one, but has a precise, albeit implicit background, revealed in said prologue, that is, a relatively senior Navy Chief (Navy being unspecified) which was part of a parade (Victory, Navy or National day, a festive parade) when suddenly an unexpected violence (coup or terror attack, was to remain unspecified, being the perspective of an involved witness) which, of course, being unarmed, do what he could only do: defend the civilians. Then he runs, carrying civilians inside a building, getting wounded in the process. inside, he manage to climb to an upper floor, where he meets with one of his Officiers, (a male one) whose, sword at hand, defend the access to the rooms where he, together with many civilians and wounded people are sheltered from the sudden carnage, and is tended by his ship’s medic, a female one (of course, hundreds of years later they are Azuj and Miyai, respectively…) then the officer cuss and yell “Rocket ! Duck !!” then all became smoke and fade in black… into the scene people which played The Portrait know.

This prologue, which was an homage to Once and Future and a self-irony on my long dev time, was conceived, and partially implemented up to October 2023.

Then 7th of October, 2023 came, and with it, the ugly show of blood & gore in southern Israel, more ugly for one which is both Italian and Hebrew, so in seeing the ugly footage about that Nova music festival, the decision was immediate and automatic: prologue scrapped. and for scrapped I mean:

$ shred iprologue.t

That is, not only deleted, but also overwritten and totally unrecoverable.

This, OTOH, gives much more motivation for the rest of the narrative (hint for First Contact players: try to anagram “anfistel”, and more generally, try to look beyond the alleged “kink”) but I think that indeed there’s the “other side” of unpleasant topic and themes.

Your experience & opinions on this other side ?

Best regards from Italy,
dott. Piergiorgio.
