Ivan's Killatorium

What? In private?? While the masses are screaming for participation??? Venerable chef, let the brain children of the clamoring audience do battle upon each other in the arena of the infospace! Why, I’ll throw out a few squalling babes myself:

  • An alligator who fancies himself a tax accountant must best a rogue IRS agent hell-bent on draining the swamp.

  • A cohort of synesthetes must compete in the world’s first synesthesia games for the honor of tasting purple for their nation’s pride.

  • An agent of chaos decides that he must harness his power to save the realm for the good of all but how, Lord, how, when pranking the people is JUST. SO. EASY.

  • The stars have dimmed! All but for a paltry few, which remaining few spell out: EAT AT JOE’S. But the only surviving restaurant is Larry’s!

Fight me! Push the feeble infant spawn of your grey matter into the bloody sands of the killatorium and let them hack upon each other in the common space, where we all may see, until only the most puissant and tasty remain!

@Ivan , your suggestion about the synaesthetes triggered this association:

Two brains must determine which one of them is in a vat through careful comparison of their sensory input and their attempts to manipulate their environment.

I would call that a brilliant idea if I thought you were real. But, given my solipsistic state and my inherent modesty, I can only say: That’ll do, brain.

Who or what is this “I” you keep referring to?

Regardless, a brilliant idea sparked up and floated around the sea of consciousness.

The IF version of this is a speed-if 2-puzzle where you, Alvy Alligator, grabs a CPA exam from the sewage pipe and drops it in front of the cpa enemy, but first you have to nail down which toilet pipe you climb up to find his office.

My favorite IF author with synesthesia is Adam Cadre. Suppose a game where you have to beat Adam as boss by combining colors and letters and words and famous paintings and rolling stones songs and easter island sculptures to just get the chance to defeat him with guitar hero riffs.

Time travel to the 90s, and then you can start this adventure. Instead of being the eternal prankster, as soon as you IF navigate to a guy to prank, now he’s the PC, he’s the hero. Why the F is my life so bad hey waitaminnit. As soon as the game foils your puzzle solving, pop into the demon wondering, this is too easy. Is this all there is? I need a lot more time to write up what the demon has to do after that, but that’s how to do that premise.

Did you see Tom Hiddleston dance in that movie based on Stephen King? Larry’s. Relax.

Holy shnikes, I thought I wrote a whole response and lost it because I did something else on my phone for a sec.

I hope you got that, Ivan. I own a Calliope cd-rom.

Ivan, I have had a while to evaluate my creativity. I don’t come up with concepts very easily, but if you have 4 seed ideas, I see where they grow without thinking very hard about it.

Ideas are easy. It’s commitment to ideas that’s hard. Which wriggling protozoan mind emission will ride the creative juices to the fertile ovum of the blank page? They say it’s 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration, but perhaps I’m just a deadbeat dad.

My thing is we actually figure out one-up on Adam and nail it.

Because! Better IF?
