I decided to prepare for Iron ChIF S1E3 by writing a complete Adventuron game in 5 days. The result is Escape from the MV Capricorn, a game about a goat and a clash of scientific methodologies.
Until it appears on the IF Archive, you can download a version with lower-quality music files right here:
This is verrrr entertaining for a five day effort. For no particular reason, I started out thinking that this was a spaceship, which lead to some jarring incongruities.
The container view scrolls up out of sight for me, which diminishes its usefulness as a navigation tool. Is it possible to set it to a fixed position when the text scrolls?
I assumed this too. I blame the Culture series of novels, where acronyms ending with a V (MSV, GCV, etc) are always designations for a type of spaceship.
Seconding that this is an impressive piece of work for five days!
This had some really novel puzzle mechanics. I liked it. Given that it had some graphics and music, I echo the sentiment that it was very impressive for just five days of work.
I’m sending a transcript with a couple of typos and missing scenery, but it was generally pretty smooth sailing.
