Update to “Guildhall of Virtue” corrects a late game bug affecting players who were navigating without the graphical map (probably uncommon). This patch can be used to complete a game from an existing save state (including from the stuck position) and should not affect ongoing games from other positions. Players may need to refresh the screen (browser update button) to see changes.
Update to “Escape the Wumpus”.
- Consequential falling is now faster
- Current room number is visible
- Trolley status is visible
Many thanks to the judges for the feedback!
Caribbean Nightmare” got another small update.
- “Undo” could have some side-effects, so I blocked it
- Thanks to Mathbrush, I identified a logic breaker and fixed it
- Several tiny text updates
If you see a colored number display counting up in the top-left corner after launching the game, it means your current save file is being updated to the new version. Just wait until the process is complete.
Epistemophilia v.1.02 updates:
- Fixes (Bugs / Typos)
- Credits (Playtester Info)
updated “Bob The Barbarian” with a small clarification that the HELP WITH command can only (mainly) be used for objects in scope.
I just updated Slekeltrom Crew to fix the bug at dogs13. Thanks to J. Grams and everyone else who pointed it out!
I went on quite a quest to find a way to tell you, but drew a blank at your blog, or X account ![]()
someone finally got through via the IFComp organizers! Thank you for your work!
WITHOUT Corp. have issued an update to the legacy terminal, fixing a problematic tester basing the world model on an exorbitant number of UNDO commands. This has been trained out of said players. Thank you for the understanding.
We apologise for any inconvenience.
Mine isn’t a parser game (Invasive Species), but I did push a small update today that corrected some typos and fixed a div tag issue.
I just published another update to The Last Voyage of the Warsaw Queen with a few more minor bug fixes and playability enhancements.
I’ve made another update to WITHOUT corporation to ensure all users can reach the endgame when it is meant to be available. Thank you!
I have updated The Two Seasons: Encounter With A Vampire to improve one of the early puzzles.
Original version is still fully playable.
UPDATE: The fix is now live!
I’m going to update Tableaux Vivants soon, which will likely break any current browser saves. I’ll post the update no sooner than tomorrow morning U.S. Eastern time, to give folks a chance to finish any in-progress saves they’ve started over the weekend.
(If you have an active save that you won’t have a chance to finish today, I believe you should be able to keep playing tomorrow if you don’t close or reload your browser.)
This update will address a sneaky little bug with the potential to lead to a rare soft-lock. In the process I’ll also be adding some alternative syntax and synonyms for certain commands, and clarifying a couple of hints, based on what I’ve observed from recorded transcripts.
The current version of the game should still be perfectly playable, as long as you avoid feeding the roast to the dog.
I updated Wait-Our-Way Tower again. Nothing close to gamebreaking, but still, some was clear to the viewer.
Most if not all of this was from code fixes after I received my last transcript. Also, I believe a tester noticed one of these things, but it went in one ear and out the other when I read their transcript. Let that be a lesson to programmers!
graphic updates
- scenery I forgot to add on the lake (room 43), with boats disappearing once you figured what to do
- when nemeses reappeared, I had set the flag for them to come back after drawing the room
technical updates
- two half-right clues were flipped & a 3rd was an artifact from the previous puzzle solution e.g. if you typed the second word of DRINK SODA you’d see * FRIES, while the second word of EAT FRIES would give * SODA
- the clue number in room 26 was wrong
cluing updates
- room 41 may’ve pushed people towards the wrong one of two realistic/sensible room 41 candidates
- room 26 makes it clearer what sort of first word you need
- I altered the room description of one NPC to hint which room has puzzle
Bonus points:
- the command to see author commentary on winning is now lampshaded better.
- bonus point in rooms 11/31 now clearer about what it does (quality of life boost)
text errors
- I had flipped the logic of room 40’s main inhabitant’s description, which may’ve chased some players from looking there
- room 10 had bad parentheses in a dynamic string, so when it was solved, you saw nothing
In one eyeball and out the other?
I’m going to make an update to THE RAT tomorrow morning (about 15 hours from now), to fix some minor issues players have discovered. This will break saves and erase transcripts, so if you’ve started playing the game but haven’t finished it, keep your tab open! (Or download your transcript before then.)
updated “Bob The Barbarian”. small bug but potentially a game-breaker under the right (wrong) conditions.
And just to get my bearings, “The Rat” has been updated. Sorry to barge in, Draconis, but “I’m going to update it tomorrow” is more easily missed by me compared to “it’s now updated”.
I must thank improvmonster for reminding me about it with his update.
EDIT - Oh, I’d missed the tableaux viuvants update tooe bcause it was edited in. Damn. Maybe this thread is best not followed for a few days, let it pile up, by then all the "I’m going to update"s will have become “I have updated and you can get it now.”
Oops, that’s my bad! Yeah, I should have messaged once it was done.
