Testers needed over the weekend. Dark comedy. Semi factual, semi-fictional. Biopic. Love it or hate it. Golden Banana contender. Very weird.

Twine. 1-2 hours playtime. PM if interested.

Thanks, yes, it has been finished, submitted, and partially tested. Looking for more testers this weekend.

Oh phew! Cos we have had some people miss out date wise before. Best of luck!

Here’s my teaser:

It s a sequel that includes:

  • Voice acting
  • Drugs
  • Phone calls
  • Echoes
  • Pain. Lots of pain. Immense horror of the reality of having to exist in the state they are in and the place they are now.
  • Dog

Tbh, I’m not sure how well it’ll do in the rankings. It could get 30th-50th place like my games usually do, but people might also really like it. Idk, we’ll see!
Oh, and people seem to be sharing word/passage count too! It was ~10,500 words at first, but new additions made it 14,109. Number of passages is 246.
Also, here’s a fun fact: I ended up making a separate Twine file to test out the variables/macros in a basic format (without playing through the entire thing) called the “testing chamber”. Having it made it quick to find & fix variable/macro problems before putting them in the actual game. It was great and I’m definitely gonna do that for more games in the future!

Ah, this makes me feel maybe not relief, but solidarity.

I had some good ideas today (inspired by testers) that my entry can live without, but all the same, they’re worth adding. But not without at least minimal testing.

That’s a perfectly normal size, and you can have a lot of fun with it when it works as it should.

Waaah, in my games there are no drugs, no pain, nearly no violence, and no phone calls, not even phones. I’m lost. :frowning:

It is with great shame and regret I must submit an ANTI-teaser. Thanks to a particularly bad confluence of planned extended vacation and unplanned responsibilities as caregiver I cannot see a path to commit to an X-ROOT review series this year. If you have gleaned anything about my faux-OCD over the years, know this tears me up more than it should.

Even more so because of THIS:

I am leaving the door open for a post-Comp review series, truncated if need be, but will depend entirely on the events of September.

Good luck, and deepest apologies to all entrants. Just another thing to add to the pile of darkness that is my 2025. (At least brightened significantly by my Alpha playtesters, proving there can be bright lights, even in the deepest night.)

Hey, there’s no shame in that - and you kept the flame going when I bailed on Spring Thing for similar reasons, so maybe in an obscure karmic way this is the cosmic scales balancing

well, now that I’m 100% free to review (forever !) I guess I can try to cover the major absence of one the best IF reviewer, but is an extremely difficult mission…

Best regards from Italy,
dott. Piergiorgio.
