The yellow backgrounds for each element are very noticeable and distracting. It could be a gamma issue if it’s not noticeable on your computer.

thank you, I will work on it.

I consider much better the first.

without the female silhouette on the hand will be a good cover art for The Awakening, a nifty Inform 6 story, vintage 1998.

thank you

In my opinion it 's too explicit. I would have opted for a single object that intrigues without revealing anything. A curiosity: Is the silhouetteof the naked woman relevant to the plot?

not naked,it’s a silhouette. meant for people to know it was female and she is relevant. . IN THE DARKNESS THERE IS NOWHERE TO RUN “NIGHTFALL”

Thank you for your opinion. I might need to change it, didn’t mean to offend you.

Post updated.

Why should I feel offended? I just wanted to be helpful. Good luck with your work. Ps: I stand by my opinion. Too explicit :grinning:

IMO, for me isn’t too explicit…

I think the first version looks great. The colorscheme with yellow, orange and black is much more attractive than the second one. Also, the proportions looks better.

The title is more prominent in the first picture, whereas it’s sidelined in the second. The first has a more impacting color scheme, which is good. The figure adds enigma and intrigue, which is also good.

1st one’s way better, tho I’d turn the yellow saturation down a bit.

I hope not to step on anyone’s toes here, but I’d like to express my opinion on the matter.
Although yes, the first option is the best, there’s a series of “mistakes” I would address (the quotes are essential, as there is nothing like a “mistake” in drawing… I lack a better word.)

  1. You need margins. Always remember not to fill all the space with graphics, because each element needs air to breathe (and be in focus).
  2. Try not to “set the table”. That is: do not distribute the elements as if they were dishes on a table; better to group (by message/semantics or affinity) than to distribute.
  3. Those who say that there are too many elements and that the cover is too didactic are probably right; however, I don’t know anything about the game so let’s try not to eliminate anything for now.
  4. Watch out for the chromatic aberrations that @Dannii talks about: some elements (the bats, for example, or the tree) have annoying rectangles or circles in the background whose yellow is not the same as the moon.

Below, a test I did by taking copyright-free elements and deforming and arranging them at will. (Also, I replaced the somewhat-nude girl, so to arrange everybody’s taste–and I couldn’t find a silhouette that worked anyway.)

If you like it, you can use it.
If you don’t like it… again: I didn’t mean to step on anyone’s toes

PS: The dripping font… please, no  The cover gave me 70s vibes, so I went straight to the point.
