Dark mode for the Inform 7 client?

Hi all,
I was wondering if there is a dark mode for the Inform 7 client (for windows) or any way to configure the color settings. I have problems with eye strain, so a dark mode beyond just making my screen color negative would be great.
Thanks!

I assume that you for “client” means the IDE…

de gustibus et coloribus not disputandum est, but I find a yellowish “old paper” background not ony less strainful, but also relaxing…

I know you can do it in Mac under Inform>Preferences from the menu bar.

The IDE is kind of in flux and the “dark mode” on Mac has some unfortunate default color choices that don’t stand out against the dark background so I had to tweak it (which this one lets you do). Unfortunately you can’t affect the documentation or testing right panel into similar dark mode.

One doesn’t get the advantages of the IDE integration, of course, but the 10.1 docs are available in dark mode – the web page automatically follows your browser setting (which your browser may be inheriting from a system setting).

You can’t change the IDE story pane, but you can change your test project (and the way it appears in the story pane).

The next release of Inform will include changes to the Windows front-end to support dark mode, and to have editable colour preferences to match the MacOS front-end. It will look like this:

Until that’s released, sorry, the colours are not editable.

… And for the Linux release, IDE-side ? The most serious UI issue that the editor’s font size can’t be changed.

Hey! That looks really nice! Looking forward to that!
