I am out of my depth here, but I recall there were a couple recent-ish threads sorta about this, where at least one person who uses a screen reader shared their thoughts - passing it along in case they’re useful:
Is there a general approach to accessibility for non-schematic maps in IF? That is I’m not talking about the traditional box-and-lines style of map that shows all the rooms and their connections. I’m thinking about including a map feelie in an all-text IF game, which is intended to just give a general impression of the shape of the game world and potential points of interest in it.

I’m writing a game where I provide an ASCII map in order to help solve a puzzle. The puzzle is somewhat like an arrow maze. In fact, it is an arrow maze, but I don’t like using the word “maze” as that puts people off. It’s not like your conventional maze with twists and turns and all exits possible from every room. It is quite neat and logical and easily mapped if you were to map it manually. Oh, and the map updates dynamically to show your location in case you get lost.
