Zork zero with Windows Frotz

On my PC, using Windows Frotz, when I click the compass rose, I get this response: “[Clicking on the compass rose is not yet implemented on this machine.]” I thought maybe upgrading to the latest version of Windows 10 would help. It didn’t. Neither did using the z6 version rather than the old zip version. Is anyone here familiar with this inconvenience or the possibility of remedying it?

Which Interpreter are you using (this is a setting in Frotz)? Some settings (c64 terp for instance) don’t support the rose. I’m using the pc masterpieces release (393) with the MS DOS terp setting, and can use the compass.

Got it, Drew. I misread your sample. I needed to reset the interpreter number to MSDOS, not check “Wrap script lines” (which was already checked). Case closed.

I always wanted to use it! Thanks!
