Writing poll: Which point of view do you work with?

it isn’t so much a writing preference so much a conscious style-choice depending on what I want to get across regarding who the character is

I’m thinking along the lines of that question about whether authors tackle mechanics first and writing second – are there people out there who decide that their characters need to change because it doesn’t suit their preferred style?
