Who's Elisabeth Russell?

I played The Magpie Takes the Train for the first time yesterday, and neither I nor the person with whom I was playing could make any sense of the reference to this person. Is she a character from a novel/movie/play/other IF, or something else?

I read this and thought, ‘Huh, I wonder who that is, too. I’ll look her up.’

Then I saw that you wrote ‘Magpie takes the Train’ and not ‘Alias the Magpie’.

Then I thought, ‘Oh, I wrote that, I should probably know who that is.’

Then I thought, ‘Maybe I forgot some actress’s name, like Blake Lively or something?’

Then I opened up the code, and remembered. It’s just a name I made up, a new character, not a reference (although the idea of a criminal sharing a train with you is, I think, based on a Lupin story I read in preparation for writing the game where Lupin tries to steal from a man on a train who turns out to be a serial killer). I may be mixing up Lupin with another gentleman thief.

Edit: Found it:
