When is the floor not the floor?

Thank you to all of you for your thoughts.

Floor and ground are synonyms. On the ramparts synonyms are rampart, floor and ground.

There are a few situations, when the PC is riding something OR is in a tree, where appropriate responses have been added.

I got a room where the player actually stands on a catwalk, suspended over a deep drop below. In this case, the floor was called “the catwalk”.
