What's one positive/neutral thing that's happened today?

Had a lovely bowl of warm chicken noodle soup.

I propose: Tetris-ing is when you’re putting things in, Jenga-ing is when you’re taking things out.

And of course Sokoban-ing is when you realize you’ve pushed so many things to the back to make room that you can’t get any of them back out now.

When I do either of these things, it’s more like “Wile E. Coyote-ing,” since I order fancy products to help me organize and they always make the problem worse and stuff ends up everywhere.

So is that like…you push the water bottle in and twist so it locks and no one can remove it without knowing to twist it the other way?

I barely had the spoons for it, but I worked on the project document for my next game today.

I’m holding off on I Am Prey until the competition is over, so that I don’t accidentally leak new content into a comp patch.

Small victories. Hopefully I can finish the document tomorrow or maybe the day after.

My teaching was observed today, and the person doing the observation told me he didn’t see a single thing that could be improved. I’m absolutely floored. That’s not what I expected to hear at all.

That’s great. I had an extended evaluation by multiple teachers this semester but I haven’t seen the verdict yet.

Painted my nails hot pink (in a very Barbie approved colour!) with that pale pink glitter topper, and a clear coat on top for shine. Super pretty! They’re currently at a really manageable length, if a bit too short to shape the way I’d like to with a file, but I forgot how much easier it is to do things (like type, for one) when they’re trimmed back, though I do miss the satisfying click of my nails on top of the glass table.

Managed to safely shower today (there was a bit of a tricky moment with my vision blacking out, but the adjustable shower head’s attachment to anchor it to the wall at different heights makes it a lot easier when you can’t stand up for prolonged periods of time in the heat) and had a lovely little crunchy shrimp cracker. I should hopefully be back and at 'em in a week or so, but for now I’m trying to take it easy.

At my son’s school, it’s habit to bring little gifts for the other children or for the classroom for birthdays. Most times, these are little plastic toys or a small packet of crayons, or an educational game for the whole class. My girlfriend had the brilliant idea of giving a sack of flower bulbs this year.

This was two months ago, way too early for planting outdoors. The teacher stored them in a cardboard box in a dark cabinet until today.

This morning, I passed by my vegetable garden and threw all my gardening tools for cutting and digging out weeds in a wheelbarrow and walked to school, where they have a small grove of trees with a weed-overgrown clearing on the grounds. We (the teacher, the assistant teacher, and a wild gang of seventeen excited 9yo girls and boys) spent the better part of an hour preparing a nice patch of soil, getting rid of weeds and roots and loosening the earth until it was ready.

Then for the next hour, we planted 6O gladiolus bulbs, along with some other butterfly and bee attracting flowers, and some courgette seeds and some peas that were left over from my own garden. Should make an impressive assortment of flowers in a bit of time!

It was great to see the children so enthustiastically getting their hands and knees dirty working on their very own patch of flower garden. They were often distracted by all the bugs and worms and proudly picked up the “scary” bugs to come show them to me.

Great work!

I love how the teachers at my son’s school go out of their way to get the children out in the fresh air and learning stuff that way. On a nice day they’ll even go out and do their math or language excercises with chalk on the playground concrete.

I have managed to code a MAP  where spots are hiddent until the player enters a room!
After a bunch of ugly attempts and terrible failures, it is working

I’m always absurdly pleased with myself (I crack myself up) when I can work in spontaneous puns into everyday conversation. Was chatting with a household meow and cackled over being able to slide in “ah, working wear? Well, he’s a working dog” about a little Shiba Inu pen they doodled a tie onto, and “PPE? That PP rated E for everybody” while discussing hardhats.

Those rare moments of pure joy… In my WIP I wanted to add a small bonus thing, which, if left undiscovered, would end up in the AMUSING section for people to try. But somehow it got totally out of hand, up to the point I ended up rewriting an ancient classical text to suit the quest and I could not stop making giggly noises until my wife came upstairs to check what was up with the fits of laughter… I showed her my “adjustments” and she just rolled her eyes and walked away. At least she did not tell me to take it out of the game :stuck_out_tongue: .

Oh gosh. Stay safe! There are all kinds of suction cup railings you can attach to the shower wall to steady yourself. You might also consider getting a shower bench or chair so you can sit down if necessary - especially handy so you don’t have to bend way down or balance on one foot to wash your legs and feet.

That looks so cool! Is it in Twine? Somehow layering images or covering and revealing sections?

My journey of self-car maintenance continues. I got the check engine light again, but I have acquired a code-reader that plugs into the computer port and the light is feebly warning me that the ratio is lean - apparently too much oxygen in the exhaust, which could be a leak in the airflow system or dirty fuel injectors - or possibly even a dirty sensor misreading that there is a problem.

On suggestion of cousin’s garage-lurking husband, I added a bottle of specific fuel injector-engine cleaner which he said should help if it’s just clogged injectors or a dirty sensor. The car is running great - it’s perfectly still when stopped at lights with no rough idling or vibration or noise or knocking of any kind, so I’ve got fingers crossed it’s just the system being dirty.

I also bought a gosh-dang funnel. On the rare occasions I do need to pour something in (usually windshield wiper fluid!) I always go “gosh dang it, why don’t I own a funnel?” I also need to get an indoor funnel since I’m constantly filling spray bottles to dilute cleaning fluid and have the same “gosh dang it” reaction every time I do that.

The auto store is actually kind of cool and I may need to lurk there as there’s all kinds of fun stuff. I got a kit with a battery terminal brush, cleaner, and protectant so I can avoid the chemical science project on my battery getting out of hand again.

Always Twine :stuck_out_tongue:
There’s a main div with a background being the main map, with a grid on top where the paper base of the map covers the spots for each hidden room!
