I WON THE FRENCH COMP
Congratulations @manonamora!
I received my yoga mat I ordered today! I got an extra large one so I can roll around and stretch on the floor (back crackledy) without fear that I’m laying in a historical naughty elder kitty pee-spot!
(For reference, I do scrub messes with deodorizer and own a carpet shampooer which I use on occasion - I’m not that kind of cat person, but Elder Kitty is a bodily-fluid ninja and on a much tighter schedule than I am.)
IZ BAD NINJA DUZ NOT FEEL GUILTEE
Congratulations @manonamora !
DOL-OS deserves it. Great game!
For those who’d like to whip out their crooked French and/or their French-to-whatever-native-language dictionary: DOL-OS - Details (ifdb.org)
Your kitty is so cute!!! One of my favourite colour combinations (the little M on the forehead in a sort of greyish with a white tummy and nosie and mouth.) Their eyes are a lovely green.
Thank you!
Coming to you in English TBD
You see an M, but I see a W. For Wumbo of course.
Where can I find the full results? I’ve tried the fiction-interactive.fr website and the itch page for the Concours but they’re not on there.
Did you get first notice before publication because you won?
There was a stream on twitch (19h GMT+1) like the IF Comp (but it didn’t save properly) and we are chatting on the French discord rn. The full list of result will be up tomorrow on the website/itch/here.
I always describe him as “white cat with a cape and a mask”.
Unusually happy and floofèd.
Here’s the other lil heterochromic goof. She’s my fluffy marshmallow angel.
U PROMIZED MAJICS AND SPOONZ. WILL NEVAR TRUST AGEN
Félicitations!!!
Went shopping today and picked up some cute stuff (that I also needed to get around to doing.) The frappe is my entire lunch, I’m gonna be so wired tonight.
Thanks, Amanda!
I had a related positive experience—today I discovered A Man Named Baskerville on the “New Acquisitions” shelf at my local branch library.
(And, of course, get well soon @AmandaB.)
Just finished breaking in my new diary (a soft pink) with the Le Pen pink pen. It’s soooo teeny tiny. Makes my handwriting way prettier! It’ll be good to have a space to use up my pink gel pens, as the blueblack ink and my fountain pen are reserved for the moodier toned journals for drafting. Fits the gothic aesthetic better.
I went for a walk with my mother yesterday. Her dementia has been getting rather more advanced these past few months, but she immensely enjoys being outside, singing, and hugging. So that’s what we do.
The early signs of spring are all around, flowers from bulbs sticking their heads up from the soil, trees blossoming, birds happily flying to-and-fro with sticks and fluff for their nests,… It was a crispy-cold day with a clear sky. The feeble sunrays did their best to warm us.
On our usual route there is a couple who go mad-as-hatters about the holidays. All holidays. They decorate their tiny front garden to the point of overflow, way past good taste, zooming through kitsch and bursting out the other side to pure and wondrous abundance.
It’s a favourite stopping point where my mother and I admire the colours and the little scenes they make in their little holiday dimension.
Yesterday they were outside putting the Easter decorations up. Yellow flowers, pink and lilac eggs, fluffy bunnies,… The works.
My mom smiled and pointed and uttered the few words she still has to draw my attention to particularly colourful spots or the deer hiding behind a bush.
It was great to catch the couple while they were decorating. I finally got to tell them how much we enjoyed passing by their garden and stopping there for a few minutes. They were touched by my thanks and my mother’s obvious delight.
It was a good walk.
Had a taste of the cake for breakfast. It was even better than it looks.
Super decadent cake, dense as heck. My landlord really knows me well.
Such fortuitous timing! Winning the Concours and celebrating your birthday. I wonder which will prove most memorable…
Perhaps you could take it to the bakery and ask them to squeeze Concours Fiction Interactive Francophone 2023; Première Place under your name.
