Well, you don’t get to keep all that nice summer weather to yourself anymore. The Texans are coming to suck up all your cool evening air.
That’s it. The North Fork is twenty minutes from here.
I love the Smokies and the Blue Ridge Mountains. About as close to heaven as you can get. I have even hiked the Appalachian Trail a time or two. (just parts not a through hike!)
We love staying at Dahalonega State Park. We have been going there since the mid 70s. Atlanta has almost grown that far in the past 50 years.
Time for a family get together!
Was a bit annoyed by managing my embroidery floss, so I put together a holder for them- a ring of paperclips, and then clipping the thin separated pieces in half and hooking them a few links apart, so I can easily pick out and manage the messy snarl to avoid any tangles. Has been working out great so far, and getting better at more efficiently separating out the threads.
I built a wooden stand about a foot tall and drove a bunch of long nails into each side. I can hang thread off each nail. Theoretically this should be great, but it turns out that YOU have to hang the thread from the nail if you don’t want a big clump of tangled colors on the table. It doesn’t hang itself. This doesn’t feel fair.
Kat drew me a little congratulations cat!! It’s based off of a particular cat picture that reminds them of me (I’ll put it below too.)
I learned that an article I wrote about 1000xRESIST was mentioned in a podcast interview with the creative director of the game:
I feel flattered and honored, considering I wrote the article for fun and contemplation about the game.
In the last two days, I’ve gotten a driving ticket, my son vomited at 3 am, and my air conditioner broke.
But the good part is that I can do a defensive driving course and it could lower my insurance, the throw up fixed whatever was upsetting my son, and calling maintenance encouraged me to finish cleaning up my apartment for end of the school year cleaning.
So I guess there’s a bright side to everything!
Caught up with some friends I hadn’t seen in years.
It was a belated birthday gift (mail logistics) and now we MATCH. Kat has a little fluffy grey beanie baby named Beani the long furred cat with a red ribbon I got them for their birthday and they got me this super cute fluffy little white baby cat for mine with a pink ribbon!!!
It’s always great to hear how bad stuff turns good. Bittersweet is life. That happens a lot to me so I like hearing about these things. Also glad to hear from you more!
^u^ Got a good ending in a game on a blind playthrough. Also played a super sweet soulmates and re-incarnation themed one that makes me want to write a bunch of fluffy romantic stuff with Jinx… And also smiled because I thought of her while playing another game and one of the side characters looks sort of like one of her OCs. Plus, in the soulmates one, the characters had synesthesia like her! Always sweet to be reminded of the people you love.
Tucked up all cozy in bed. The blood loss is making me shiver and I’m so damn cold, (even though it’s like 22C, I’m freezing worse than on a winter walk out and about at like -10C) at least I can be all cuddled up in a blanket burrito. And I have water on my bookshelf, so I can sip tepidly at that while trying to sit up without fainting or slumping over again.
Tomorrow I have no lessons - just theatre from 8 till 3!
The local swans are finally hatching their eggs. Baby cygnets everywhere
I’ve read that in England all swans are property of King Charles. Is that the same in Scotland?
I got two separate donation contributions on my itch games last week!
(Feel better @anon66621404 !)
The piglets decided to break one of the hinges on their gate and go exploring, and then decided the dirt floor of the shed connecting the house to the barn needed excavation. Fortunately I found them before they interrupted any customers coming to pick up their produce, and they were very good about walking back home when I shooed them out (and I had another sufficiently sturdy hinge lying around).
What produce do you sell? I am continually in awe of people who grow food, because I find it ridiculously hard.
