Inform seems to already understand cutting, choping, slicing etc. But when I try an use cutting e.g.
Instead of cutting X:
Do Y.
It complains that it doesn’t know what cutting is. I’m guessing the verb is something other than cutting and it understands cutting as an alternative, any ideas what?
I thought cutting was its own action.
So I’m not sure why you’re being told it’s an unknown action. Could you have disabled it accidentally somewhere in your code?
If you type ACTIONS in the game in the IDE, Inform will then tell you exactly what it thinks it’s doing on every turn. This is a good way to hunt down synonyms.
