I’m hungry and procrastinating.
Mine has got to be either four cheese or vegetarian with lots of mushrooms. I also like anchovies.

Pepperoni - mandatory as it’s not pizza without pepperoni.
Next would be italian sausage, meatballs, and peppers (banana or jalapeno).
I like everything on my pizza.
Pineapple.
Champignons (Pizza Funghi). But I like variations from time to time.

at your risk and danger, from Naples:
first and foremost, I prefer the “marinara” (which seems the original one): tomato sauce, olive oil, garlic and fresh basil. cheap and can be reheated and warmed; is my standard “deliver pizza”
then I prefer the “quattro formaggi” (four cheeses): olive oil, and four quadrant, each with one of melted mozzarella, gorgonzola, fontina and scamorza (yes, these cheese names are in Italian in the english wikipedia…), but must be eaten just out of the forno, and is my standard pizza when in “pizzeria” (here in Naples, are pizza-only restaurants).
then, the classic one, “Margherita”: olive oil, tomato sauce, mozzarella and fresh basil. Usually I take it when eating together in a large party, as friendly gesture toward the host and pizzaioli (when there’s a large “tavolata”, >10-12 people, keeping track of who ordered what is not easy, trust me)
Best regards from a discriminating
Dott. Piergiorgio.
My default is a margherita. Sometimes I get adventurous, though.

I’m the kind of guy who goes to an all you can eat pizza buffet and his first plate is one slice from every pizza on the buffet… Sadly, the local Pizza Buffet closed over a decade ago and to my knowledge, that niche in the local restaurant ecosystem remains vacant.
Anyways, if I must settle for a 1-topping, my first choice is pepperoni and my second is italian sausage, and pepperoni and sausage are my go to for a 2-topping. for a 3 topping, I add either pineapple or jalapenos to pepperoni and sausage depending on if I’m in the mood for sweet or spicy, or combine jalapeno, pineapple, and grilled chicken if I want sweet and spicy on the same slice. Never thought much of 4-topping, but for 5, my pick is pepperoni, sausage, grilled chicken, jalapeno, and pineapple.
If I had the money for a proper pizza delivery order, my preference is Papa Johns and my order would start out something like:
Large or XL The Works
Large or XL The Meats
Large or XL of whichever other specialty sounds good.
large or XL double sausage, double spicy italian sausage because its the only thing I know the resident picky pizza eater will eat.
Large or XL pepperoni, sausage, grilled chicken, jalapeno, and pineapple.
There used to be a local delivery place called Channello’s and my family’s usual order included an EBA, everything but anchovies, emphasis on the everything… sadly, Papa John’s has a limit on pizza toppings that prevents ordering an EBA and even if you could, the surcharge per topping on a create your own would make it prohibitive.
I’ll eat Anchovies on a pizza, but they are the one pizza topping I’d sooner omit as I find their saltiness overwhelming, though I do wonder if rinsing/soaking them prior to being put on the pizza could address the excessive saltiness as I understand a lot of salt preserved foods aren’t actually meant to be used straight from the salt they are packed in and neglecting to remove excess salt is a common preparation mistake with such foods.
I usually go for the classic tomato sauce, though I’ve also enjoyed pizzas with a mustard sauce(usually part of a “cheeseburger” pizza, a white sauce(not sure if it was Alfredo), a meaty taco sauce(used for a taco pizza, naturally) and possibly other more obscure sauce variants… Don’t believe I’ve ever tried pesto though.
I also enjoyed the Pizzerts the aforementioned, long gone Pizza Buffet used to have… Basically, dessert pizzas consisting of a thick, fruity pie filling spread on a pizza crust with a composition similar to a pie crust… if memory serves, they had blueberry, strawberry, cherry, pineapple, peach, and banana varieties.
I like the microwaveable frozen pizzas available for under a dollar through Walmart’s Great Value brand, but I hate that they only come in cheese and pepperoni and really miss similar pizzas that I used to get from Food Lion that also offered sausage, three meat, and supreme options.
I loathe the taste of tomatoes and tomato sauce, so I’ll either go for a pizza without any of that (white pizza, pesto, quattro formaggi, etc) or with a strong-tasting topping so that the tomato flavor becomes part of the background instead of the foreground (pepperoni, sausage).
My favorite cuisines are Italian and Mexican, which is tough with not liking tomato, and so discovering I was also lactose intolerant was quite a struggle! Now I get a specially-processed half-and-half so I can still make cream-based sauces. And I’ve gotten a lot of practice with oil-based recipes like aglio e olio.
Philly steak with extra cheese, banana peppers and jalapeños.
I usually go with basic meat lovers if I order pizza because it’s easy and usually on special.
When feeling freaky, I also like a chicken bacon Alfredo pizza with spinach and mushrooms.
Now that I’m minding carbs, I replicate a St. Louis super-flat crispy pizza with provel cheese, pepperoni and/or sausage. Shake of parmesan and/or red pepper flakes.
Absolutely four cheeses or margherita. I’m vegetarian, so no meat but mushrooms are cool.
Nothing like a Ham & Pineapple with Banana.
A what.
(Seriously, though, pizza is one of those where there is always one person with a differing opinion, and so margherita is arguably safest even when it isn’t for everyone, lol…)
I have never heard of banana on pizza. How would that even work? I mean, I know how it would literally work, you just pop some banana on the pizza, but I’m more meaning flavour and texture wise. Don’t get me wrong, I love bananas but they’re not the kind of thing I would ever think to put on a pizza. Do you mean green bananas? Or plantains?
I think the great thing about pizza is that there are so many combinations out there, so most people will be able to find something that they like. It can also be fairly easily customised for different diets and stuff.
I’m the odd one out. I find margherita gross.
I don’t blame you, I find it a little bit too plain for my taste
