Wet Wings – An Interactive Fiction by DaReInt

Hi everyone! I’d like to introduce you to my latest project, Wet Wings.

Wet Wings is an interactive fiction game, fully available in English and Spanish, inspired by the classic text adventures of the 8-bit era. It is a psychological thriller about trauma and human resilience.

Step into the shoes of Dashiell, a man whose life seems to have come to a standstill as everything around him begins to fall apart. When he sets out on a long journey north, he will discover that the road leads not only to unfamiliar places, but deep into himself.

Explore a world filled with characters, conversations, places to discover, and secrets waiting to be uncovered. Travel between different environments, take to the road, and cover long distances behind the wheel as time passes and the world around you changes. Investigate, solve puzzles, and make choices as you uncover clues hidden in the places you visit, the objects you find, and the people you meet.

Development

Wet Wings was developed in Inform 6 using the PunyInform library.

AI tools were also used as part of the development process, assisting with areas such as programming, graphics, audio, and language. They were used as tools throughout the creative process, while the story, game design, characters, puzzles, dialogue, and overall creative direction are my own.

  • MSX
  • Commodore 64

Thanks

I’d also like to thank some of the people who are part of this community, especially Johan Berntsson and Fredrik Ramsberg for creating PunyInform and Ozmoo, Pablo Martínez (Kozelek) for PunyInformES, and Stefan Vogt for Puny BuildTools. Their work has been invaluable in helping me bring Wet Wings to life across so many classic platforms.

I hope you enjoy the adventure and have fun exploring the world of Wet Wings!
