Vector graphics with the old 1984 MacPaint and WorldBuilder Style?

Anyone know a way to make vector graphics with the old 1984 MacPaint style black and white patterns?
Basically how the old WorldBuilder program let you do.

What tools are you comfortable with?

I usually use Inkscape (https://inkscape.org/) for vector art. It has a pattern-fill feature.
