Various Squiffy issues are now fixed

I have fixed various issues that have caused the web version of Squiffy to be completely broken for some time.

Things should now be fully functioning again:

  • Running, Downloading, Previewing and Publishing games from the online editor now works
  • Interactive examples and the ScratchPad in the Squiffy documentation now work again
  • A long-standing issue where sometimes the online editor would load an existing game as blank is now fixed (if you’re still seeing this, clear your browser’s Local Storage for textadventures.co.uk and refresh)

Note:

  • You will currently still see an error message when publishing a game to textadventures.co.uk, though the publish will have succeeded in the background (you’ll be able to find your published game listing on your “My Games” page)

I am aware that various other things on textadventures.co.uk are broken, like registering an account, resetting your password etc. I am hoping to help the maintainers fix those too.

Longer term I’ll be setting up a separate website for Squiffy, and I’m planning to release a new version as a Progressive Web App. Stay tuned!
