Personally, I prefer to avoid being embroiled in debates on ai, which tends to quickly overheat, so the ai tag is an important tool for me.

So I kinda shot myself in the foot when I tagged the fweep thread, huh? Oops.
If you are able to add a tag, you can also remove a tag.
Yeah, if you think your thread doesnât deserve the tag, youâre also free to remove it! Itâs only if this turns into an edit war that weâll step in.
I was wondering why my posts have gone dark.
I think itâs worth noting that viewing the #ai tag as some kind of advertisement loss is not really the correct way to frame it.
If a thread is not getting much traffic because of the #ai tag, then removing it wonât help, because the people who have blocked that tag will not interact with your thread once they notice the LLM use, or they will have criticism that you might not want, entirely because of the LLM use.
So by tagging your posts with #ai, you are showing your post only to those who wonât immediately bounce, and to those who will engage with the topic at your own level of LLM acceptance.
I suspect itâs extremely rare that someone who is pro-LLM is also blocking the #ai tag.
I think the feeling (at least for me) is that tagging something ai casts a very wide net (or the opposite of a net? What would you call that?). I tagged my earlier post because I wanted to be respectful of peopleâs sensitivities, but may have inadvertently turned away people who are just tired of hearing about the latest developments in AI-IF-slop-fiction and less concerned about the way I made my software.
I think people blocking the #ai tag also care about how you made your software.
If this assertion is wrong, then we can have an additional tag to differentiate.
#ethical-ai
#no-artists-harmed
#ai-assisted
âŚor my favourite so farâŚ
#mostly-human ![]()
And maybe a #not-that-kind-of-ai-the-old-kind for the boring olâ âmake an NPC do somethingâ sense of the term.
Probably a good idea if you have AI in the title but you donât mean the LLM kind
