Trouble with some Vorple Screen Effects phrases

I’m finding that not all of the phrases in Vorple Screen Effects are working for me.

“wait for any key” works.

“wait for the SPACE key” doesn’t work in the Vorple interpreter, but does in the Inform IDE.

“clear the screen” doesn’t work in the Vorple interpreter, but does in the Inform IDE.

“pause the game” doesn’t totally work in the Vorple interpreter; it prints the message about needing to press space but nothing happens when you press space. It works fine in the Inform IDE.

Other features of Vorple Screen Effects like “[blue letters style]” are working.

Any idea what’s going on here? I’m using the newest version of Vorple, dated February 14th, 2021.

Those effects were previously handled by the interpreter. After an interpreter engine change they should be done in the extension, but by mistake that change was never made. I’ll update it soon to fix the issue.

Thanks for the report, the issues with pausing the game and clearing the screen are now fixed in version 3.2.5 (vorple-if.com/download.html).
