Trouble in Sector 471 - Browser Edition

I just put up the browser edition of Trouble in Sector 471 on Itch.

This was my IF Comp entry in 2022. You explore a tech facility and help robots.

The browser edition is playable with mouse or touchscreen. I did a similar thing with Inside the Facility last year. This one has a slightly fancier map – you can tap map squares to get info.

I’d love to get feedback about the experience on phones. In my own (limited) experience, it plays a little better on Android phones than iPhones, but it should work on both.

Any other feedback appreciated as well.

Here are a few minor suggestions -

Put the help command behind the menu or “…” button since it’s rarely used.

Remove the “look” command since the game is simple, displays the state of the room each turn, and the description can be seen by scrolling up.

Add an option to move the buttons to the right side of the screen for right handed people.

The game only works in landscape on my phone; isn’t there a setting on itch to specify this and maybe automatically open the game in landscape mode?
