I was thinking today of a puzzle and I can’t remember where it’s from… maybe NGUHD? But I’m not finding anything in David Welbourn’s walkthrough. Or maybe it was a ParserComp game?
There was a toy train going around a track, past a number of little characters/automatons, and you could trigger each one to do their action as you went past. IIRC one of them would drop a penny in your train, which you could then trade for a hot cross bun, there was a guard with a spear that would stab something (maybe the hot cross bun?), there was a dragon that flamed… is this ringing any bells for anyone?
Edit: or could it have been a set-piece in Moondrop Isle? But it had an old-timey tin-toy feel and I thought it was almost a museum exhibit and I’m not quite sure where that would fit…
Woah, that’s cool. I guess I’m going to have to actually tackle that game.
Way more complicated than the one I was thinking of, though. This was just a single short loop, maybe 6-7 toys long, and I’m pretty sure it was a single puzzle in a bigger game. This was pretty limited-parser, though I don’t know if the whole game was…
Oh! Wait. I bet… yep! The “Contraption room” from Vambrace of Destiny. Not a train, huh. But a miniature brass man on a circular track.
