I have Obsidian (for notetaking) because I was considering switching because of the knowledge graph/linking, but ultimately remained on Coda because you can change the font colors and highlight stuff in different colors, which satisfies my color-coded brain (plus the Pro plan is free with a student discount).

There are endless discussions about note taking apps on hacker news for those who are interested. My own minimal requirements are:
-
organization within files, eg via text folding
-
links to open other files from within the file
-
simplicity and portability, ie text files
Common and well supported programs like vim and emacs can provide all these features. Also, I am probably forgetting a million other features I use all the time like searching, navigational shortcuts, general customizability, etc.
