If you want to change your username, you have to make a request so we can do it. That’s how Discourse keeps track of your account so that’s why it’s not self-serve changeable. Your “real name” can be anything you want or blank if you prefer.
I actually created some preferences shortcuts in the side bar (click the hamburger icon - the three horizontal lines at the upper left - if you don’t see the sidebar.)
