Submissions for Text Adventure Literacy Jam 2025 close on 30 April 2025.
At this point in time, 51 people have joined and two games have already been submitted. From what I know, we should have at least 8 to 10 games submitted. Obviously, I’m hoping that more people join and we get many more submissions before the closing date.
If the idea of writing a text adventure for beginners appeals to you, it’s not too late to start. You can still write a small game in one month. Small games are good for beginners.
Even if you’re not entering the competition, please play and rate all the games when they’re released on 1 May 2025. Games for beginners can make a refreshing change from what you’re used to. They’re also a good introduction to parser-based IF if you’re a choice-based player.
And it’s not too late to donate a prize! This doesn’t have to be anything really valuable, as we already have some very generous donations. Maybe a book or a T-shirt or a voucher of some sort. Just keep in mind that physical prizes will require postage costs.
I’ve tested a couple of games and, from what I’ve seen, this is going to be a really good competition. I can’t wait to see all the finished games.
