General Hints

  • When you type HELP, the game explains:

    This is a limited parser game. You can move around using commands like NORTH or N, you can LOOK or take INVENTORY, you can EXAMINE things and SHOW things TO people.

  • Most of the puzzles can be solved with SHOW. Check your INVENTORY and try showing everything you have.

How do I get past the bouncers at the Mansion Entrance?

  1. Read the “General Hints” above.

  2. Like most of the puzzles in this game, you’ll solve the puzzle with SHOW.

  3. INVENTORY. You only have your badge and your resolve.

  4. SHOW BADGE TO BOUNCERS.

  5. SHOW RESOLVE TO BOUNCERS after showing your badge.

How do I get past the skeleton at the Graveyard Hallway?

  1. Read the “General Hints” above.

  2. Check your INVENTORY and SHOW something to the skeleton.

  3. SHOW FEAR TO THE SKELETON.

How do I get past Tripli-Kate at Narrow Corridor?

  1. You might not have everything you need yet. Explore other locations, being sure to examine everything notable there.

  2. Examine the party-goers in the Pandemonium or the Torture Terrace.

  3. SHOW COMPASSION TO TRIPLI-KATE.

How do I get past the skeleton at the Dining Room of the Dead?

  1. Do the same thing you did to the last skeleton.

  2. The only way to get past a skeleton is to SHOW FEAR TO THE SKELETON. (Keep reading if you don’t have fear any more.)

  3. There’s a scary location in the mansion where you can get your fear back.

  4. When you return to the Foyer, your fear will return. Then you can show that to the skeleton.

How do I get past the homunculus at the Empty Hallway?

  1. You might not have everything you need yet. Explore other locations, being sure to examine everything notable there.

  2. Examine the party-goers in the Pandemonium or the Torture Terrace.

  3. SHOW COMPASSION TO THE HOMUNCULUS.

How do I get past the guard at the Empty Hallway?

  1. First, you have to get rid of the homunculus. See above.

  2. You might not have everything you need yet. Explore other locations, being sure to examine everything notable there.

  3. After you examine the party-goers, the Mighty Owl will appear.

  4. When you spend an additional turn in the presence of the Mighty Owl, your fear will subside and your resolve will return.

  5. SHOW RESOLVE TO THE GUARD.

How do I get past the skeleton in the Murder Kitchen?

  1. You’ll have to get past the skeleton in the Dining Room first. See above.

  2. The only way to get past a skeleton is to SHOW FEAR TO THE SKELETON. (Keep reading if you don’t have fear any more.)

  3. There’s a scary location in the mansion where you can get your fear back.

  4. When you return to the Foyer, your fear will return. Then you can show that to the skeleton.

  5. But, whenever you spend a turn in the presence of the Mighty Owl, your fear will subside and your resolve will return.

  6. If the Mighty Owl is in between the Foyer and the skeleton, you’ll lose your fear before you can show it to the skeleton.

  7. Explore the mansion further, showing all of your emotions wherever you can.

  8. When you show your admiration to party-goers, Mighty Owl will appear.

  9. Show your admiration in a way that moves Mighty Owl out of the path between the Foyer and the Murder Kitchen.

  10. Go to the Buffet and SHOW ADMIRATION there.

  11. After you SHOW ADMIRATION in the Buffet, Mighty Owl will be in the Buffet. You can then return to the Foyer to get your fear, then go directly to the Murder Kitchen to SHOW FEAR TO THE SKELETON.

How do I climb the Haunted Staircase?

  1. You can’t climb it until you’ve been to the Central Courtyard, past the skeleton in the Murder Kitchen. See above.

  2. You need a certain positive emotion to climb the Haunted Staircase.

  3. Who gives you positive emotions?

  4. After you’ve been to the Central Courtyard, go to the Mighty Owl. He’ll give you a sense of urgency, which will allow you to GO UP from the Haunted Staircase.

How do I get the Anti-Key from Tripli-Kate in the Top of the Tower?

  1. SHOW a relevant emotion to her.

  2. SHOW DOUBT TO TRIPLI-KATE.

How do I go down the chasm from the Central Courtyard?

  1. You can’t do it until you have the Anti-Key. See above.

  2. You need resolve to go down the chasm. Who gives you resolve?

  3. When you have the Anti-Key and go to the Mighty Owl, he’ll give you resolve. Then, you can GO DOWN in the Central Courtyard.

How do I defeat Negative Space?

  1. You have an object specifically designed to defeat Negative Space.

  2. SHOW THE ANTI-KEY TO NEGATIVE SPACE.

How do I defeat All-Hallows Eve?

  1. First, you’ll have to defeat Negative Space. See above.

  2. You now have the emotion you need to defeat Eve.

  3. SHOW HOPE TO ALL-HALLOWS EVE.

It appears you put a large amount of work into making invisiclues for various games. Is there a place where all these clues live (in their final form)? On this forum, they get rather buried among all the other messages.
