Hildy by J. Michael

Zorkian Fantasy • Longer than two hours • Parser-based • Glulx

“Hildy” sounds very childlike and playful as a name, suggesting that the game will be fairly lighthearted. Or, at the very least, the exposition and player character will be lighthearted. What the rest of the game will be like remains to be seen.

The game is fantasy, so Hildy is likely some sort of witch or enchantress, foraging for ingredients and curing ailments. She could also be a gnome, helping out others with rosy cheeks and a gentle smile. Either way, she seems like someone who would support others, using her abilities selflessly.

“Zorkian” is less clear-cut. As I understand it, the main fantasy element in Zork is a wizard who casts random F-related spells on you. Perhaps this random magic will occur in Hildy as well. Or maybe there’s some other fantasical part of Zork that I just don’t know about.

TLDR: happy, helpful Hildy is hexed. Often.
