Spring of 2027

As seems customary now, at the end of the IFComp, I open the debate here for the next Spring Thing, that is, the 2027 Spring thing.

Let’s roll the ball !

Best regards from Italy,
dott. Piergiorgio.

The plan here is a full, proper version of Triangle for Two. We’ll probably start working on it when we’re done with our Ectocomp entries. Can’t wait for people to experience the whole thing as it was intended!

As I get more experience writing in general and with Arcturus in particular, I hope to have something ready for Spring (Thing).

I’m trying to get Odder Jobs ready in time for my first entry to Spring Thing. Fingers crossed.

I want to try out Arcturus, but I don’t have any particular ideas for an entry. My main WIP is probably going to end up in IFComp, since the new job will cut into my IF-writing time.

Just wanted to put out there that I am working on preparing the 2027 website, it’s just a matter of tweaking some of the css and updating years. I’d expect ETA on the website updating to be by Halloween or the day after.

There may be something in the works but I’m not sure it will work out yet.

ID;MO

  • A survival horror game
  • Face hordes of late-stage capitalism monsters
  • Manage supplies
  • Earn achievements and perks across multiple playthroughs (metaprogression)
  • Have weird feelings
  • Experience two playable characters with different abilities and weapons
  • Enjoy “fast play” features (limited parser, hyperlinks) to encourage replay
  • Uncover the secret of Inherent Depravity

Most of ID;MO has been written on livestream!

Our “IFComp '26” game looks like it’s slipping to Spring Thing. (I pray it doesn’t slip any further, but who knows…)

Thanks to another thread, I’m now wondering if it’s possible to make a limited parser where one axis of freedom is adverbs rather than nouns or verbs. Dunno if it’ll function or not, but Spring Thing feels like the venue for it!

No promises this early, but I decided right after last Spring Thing that I need to do it again next year, so please cross your fingers for Enigmart LAX.

I have an idea for a lightweight parser game (9 rooms). Not sure if I should write it in TADS or Inform. I need to use a Linux environment. I’ve never installed or tested either Parser programming system on a Chromebook/Linux environment.

The Inform IDE is trivial to install on Linux (at least on Ubuntu or similar). I’ve also found myself getting a great deal of use out of https://borogove.app/ since I can use that on my work laptop that won’t let me install stuff (and Inform source code is trivial to copy and paste from elsewhere).

I didn’t think I would, but who knows? Inform game? Another weird semi-meta concept?

(Or will I ever finish FRIDGETOPIA: Revisited?..)
