Spellcasting 901

In Legend Entertainment’s “The Lost Adventures”, I can’t help but notice what they say about known bugs in Spellcasting 301…

SPELLCASTING 301: SPRING BREAK

If you try to put water into either the TUREEN or the POT, the game will hang. This is NOT a bug, but a natural result of the painstaking hand-coding process that went into creating the game, and only adds to its unique charm and value.

You may notice that if you LOOK at the Tureen or the Pot, they’re empty, but if you EXAMINE them, they’re full of water. This is a paradox we’ve purposefully set up that we will explain in SPELLCASTING 901, due out in the fall of 2032.

If you try to take the girls to the party, the game will hang. To get them to the party, give them the studfinder and they’ll show up on their own. This bug was not in the original game; we included it specifically in YOUR copy of the game ONLY. Why? ‘Cuz we’re irrepressible pranksters. But don’t return it to the store; we put an equally obnoxious bug in everyone elses’ copies as well.

it’s only 6 years away! We’ll be getting S901 to play and enjoy! Whooo-hoooo!

Yeah, I totally didn’t want to let this throwaway joke that no one saw and less people even remember die into obscurity until we actually reach that date!

EDIT - I foresee a joke game in 2032 in which the game starts, the protagonist from the previous games is now elderly, he starts a grand new adventure but on the first move has a heart attack and dies, game over. Kinda like Amishville.

I would do it myself, but I’m not sure I want posterity to show that that was my one and only IF game ever.

Although the one-move game would still have to explain the paradox!

Does anybody know if Steve’s already started with the writing? Does he need help?

It could be a crossover with Planetfall. Spellcasting 901, aka, Planetfall 3: Ernie Eaglebeak’s Fall. Again, he’s elderly and slips in the tub.

…no?

…no.

I mean, I know IRL these things are no laughing matter, so he doesn’t have to be injured… Floyd could catch him…

stationfall spoiler: Floyd’s dead, man. Too soon, too soon. :sob:

I thought he pulled a Lazarus at the end. You know, one of those things that open the way for sequels and allow for the player not to feel horrible but which does cheapen his sacrifice and makes the player think that someone somewhere had to be talked out of doing what they wanted for “reasons”. Not unlike, oh, say, the original ending to the 1986 version of Little Shop of Horrors.

Not in Stationfall. He’s gone for good.

Ahhhhh. I do remember not getting around to that one, for some reason.

I hope I forget this by the time I do, if I ever do.

Maybe by 2032…

While not as beloved as Planetfall, there are a lot of moments in Stationfall that stick with me. Worth it.
