Sondera: mobile-first interactive mystery stories told through texts, evidence, and choices

Hi everyone,

I’m building a mobile-first interactive fiction app focused on dark, cinematic mystery stories told through text messages, evidence, recovered media, and player choices.

The first complete case is The Ghosting Room, and I’m now releasing new episodes for two ongoing stories:

  • Night Shift Line — a dispatcher hears a call before the emergency system admits it exists.

  • Receipts Between Us — a relationship mystery told through receipts, backups, drafts, and edited records.

Episodes are designed to feel like you’re investigating through a phone: messages, clues, evidence boards, replay details, and branching choices. The first episodes are free, with later premium episodes available through Sondera+.

You can find it by searching for Sondera interactive mystery or visiting stories dot shopsondera dot co.

I’d love feedback from IF players and authors, especially on pacing, choice design, mystery fairness, and how the phone-style interface feels compared with more traditional interactive fiction.

Thank you for your time and taking a look.

I played about five minutes since that’s all I have time for right now. I really hate that the screen flashes every time. I feel like I’m just watching a text chain go by with few choices. Am I Maya? If so, I don’t have enough agency. If I’m not Maya, then why do make some of her decisions?

Some of the writing/UI also looks AI-generated but that’s beside the point.
