Though I’m in the Mac Inform package all the time, the easiest way to perform the whole original operation on a Mac IMO is do copy-all on your source, paste-all into a text file, save. Make sure it has the suffix .txt, then upload to your intfiction PM.
Edit: I happen to know them because I’m weird and I do weird things, but inodes are no more hidden than timestamps are as a trivial ls -i shows them. They’re also more related to the file system than your data since they don’t move with it to another partition or drive. There’s a difference between reducing noise by not showing everything all the time and obfuscating things deliberately in order to ‘simplify’ them.
