Nu=za wappui ešun. Nu apiya ḫapan ūḫḫun.
This game is an experiment. It’s pretty widely accepted that you need to use a language, not just read it, in order to become fluent. But for ancient and dead languages, opportunities for use tend to be scarce.
Could parser IF provide that sort of opportunity?
This game’s text is presented entirely in the language of the ancient Hittites, and you need to enter commands in the same language to progress. Which I know sounds intimidating! But you can click any word in the text to see its definition, and double-click any word to insert it into your command—the game should be playable entirely via mouse.
Whether the IFComp audience will enjoy this remains to be seen. But for now, I’m looking for a few testers to try it out now and give feedback on the interface, the story, and the puzzles. If you’re interested, please reply here!
