Hi folks! I’m seeking playtesters for my choice-based IF game, The Secrets of Sylvan Gardens. It’s a character-driven mystery in a cozy fantasy setting, with some puzzles and (optional) romance along the way.
The beta version is complete and should take around 2-3 hours to play (around 57k-59k words seen in a playthrough). It was written in ink and can be played in your web browser, preferably desktop Chrome.
Your time and feedback would be greatly appreciated as I continue to refine the game! I’m aiming to release it this fall for IFComp.
Playtesters will, of course, be credited in the finished game. I’m also offering playtesters an opportunity to enter a raffle to win a watercolor painting commission for a portrait in the style of the character illustrations in that appear in-game.
If you’re interested, please send me a DM or an email at lamppostprojects@gmail.com for instructions and a private link to the beta site.
More about the project:
THE SECRETS OF SYLVAN GARDENS
When you find yourself sleepwalking in the lush ornamental gardens of the Sylvan Villa, you must discover how to break the thrall of a mysterious trance.
You will be aided in your journey by the gardens’ keepers: a gardener, a botanist, a librarian, and an enigmatic hermit. Form bonds of friendship or pursue a slow-burn romance as you roleplay, helping these companions with quests that draw you deeper into their individual stories.
Illustrated with original watercolor paintings and fully scored by an award-winning classical composer, The Secrets of Sylvan Gardens will transport you into a unique cozy fantasy setting inspired by Italian Renaissance gardens and Greek mythology.
Fantasy, mystery, romance. / Choice-based interactive fiction with illustrations and music. / 2-3 hours to play.
