I’m hoping to find some playtesters for Who Whacked Jimmy Piñata?, my IFComp entry for 2025 (following on from Who Shot Gum E. Bear? in 2022 and Who Iced Mayor McFreeze? in 2023). Would anybody be interested?
The game is a parser-based mystery in which you (as Bubble Gumshoe) must solve puzzles to find clues and eventually choose one of Sugar City’s confectionery denizens to accuse of Jimmy Piñata’s murder. For anyone who played the previous instalments, it leans a little closer to Gum E. Bear than Mayor McFreeze, though incorporates significant elements of both. I’m currently focusing on fleshing out the things you can ASK characters about, but having some transcripts indicating what people want to ask about (and how they phrase it) would be a colossal help in doing that!
