Since January, I’ve been working for a dad who wanted to make a parser game for his daughter as a gift. He came up with a big transcript and I’ve been implementing.
We’ve finished the game and moved onto testing. It’s pretty big, at 42K words, and is similar in size to my IFComp games. I’ve written 0% of the text and designed 0% of the puzzles; my only job has been coding up the transcript that he sends.
The concept is that you’re a trading-card game enthusiast and you need to trade up from a worthless card to a good one. It’s called The Most Valuable Card in the World.
So far he’s tested it thoroughly, and a few of his friends, and it’s had one tester from the forums and another person who poked at it. So far testers have described it as having fairly light puzzles and everyone has mentioned parts they found funny. It comes with Invisiclues-style hints and I would estimate would take 2-4 hours to complete.
Our target goal is Parsercomp (if it runs this year, which I hope!).
I’d love to get a small group of testers to look through this. Please reply or DM me if interested!
Edit: I heard from four testers, so I’ll pause there. Thanks so much!
