Screenplay view for VisualInk

So, I wrote VisualInk as the simplest way to create a visual novel via a text interface for quick prototyping and young authors (or even to allow young authors to quickly prototype).

But while visual novels have that, ahem, visual pinache they can be a bit annoying to both play and debug if you can’t see your history. So I’ve now added an ‘illustrated screenplay’ view which you can switch to at any point while playing.

So if instant visual novels sounds appealing, or you liked some of the ideas in VisualInk but prefer a more text based feel, this might be for you.

Just for fun, that screen shot is of a playthrough of a script that we workshoped in my last writing course (for the 13+ age group). You can try the results out for yourself at Encounters | Visual Ink if you’re curious!
