Hello!
I’ve really enjoyed entering Parsercomp over the years, and playing its games.
This year, parsercomp reviewing has been slightly slower than usual. There’s a lot going on! But I think the games could use a bit more visibility. Part of this is because I helped a person new to the community to enter a game, and I’d like him to feel welcome as well.
That’s why I’d like to do something I’ve done in the past: offering prizes/rewards to people who review all Parsercomp 2026 games.
To anyone that reviews all 2026 parser comp games, I’d like to offer their choice of 1 of the 2 following prizes:
1-Appear as an easter egg in a future game of mine (for an example of this, Sam Kabo Ashwell appears as the XYZZY response in Sherlock Indomitable, and Mike Spivey appears as a guard in Grooverland)
2-A Steam or Itch key (or an emailed gblorb with full features) of Never Gives Up Her Dead’s Deluxe Version.
My own personal game (Grand Island Bank Robbery) has received what I feel like is plenty of attention, so I’m excluding it as a requirement for this competition. That means, you’re free to review it if you want, but you can get the prize by just reviewing all 9 other games (I am including the game of the person I helped).
The type of review doesn’t matter (positive, negative, long, short), as long as it represents a sincere attempt to interact with the game (for instance, one year I did this someone did very superficial 1-2 sentence blurbs about all ifcomp games where it was clear they didn’t really play them; I’m looking for something that shows the author that you saw the work and tried it out). The whole game doesn’t have to be finished (some of these games are impressively large!)
The list of games can be found here:
(if anyone else wants to contribute an alternate prize, feel free. And if any participant or organizer has concerns with this, please let me know! My goal is to bring equal attention to all entries).
