Return to home, a little IF romp

I admit that both now and in 2022 (when the coding was largely done, then put in the freezer for the last three years…) I have nothing to do, so I have, in few sessions, cobbled together a tiny IF romp, coded in what was perhaps the most primitive (mainly because of many limits and hardcoded features) IF language: GAGS !

Actually was compiled with Magx, but the challenge I have put to myself is keeping inside these limits and rigid, hardcoded, parser and because of its tinyness (exist this word ??) I haven’t bothered with ßtest and, more important, neither with proofreading, so please, absolutely NO non-constructive criticism on bad english (anyway, the text is terse and curt…)

a bit of statistics: 14 locations, 4 takeable items, 14 points (being an oldskool IF language, I feel that scoring is consistent…) a speedrun is only 9 moves, and a complete playthru is ~ 30 moves.

now, the little morsel offered to our fellow IF players & implementors:

rethome.agx.txt (8.3 KB)

and its source, under GPL license:

rethome.dat.txt (6.3 KB)

(remove the .txt prior of feeding the rethome.agx to gargoyle and/or agility, and feeding rethome.dat to your text reader/editor; note that .dat is actually the source, for the sake of period flavor I kept the unusual (and misleading…) extension Welch and the late Malberg chose back in ~1985-6)

enjoy (I hope  )! and
Best regards from Italy,
dott. Piergiorgio.
