I have been working to invent a notional framework which will keep me writing next year despite the significant and widespread impediments which already seem manifest.
Crazy plan so far is this.
- Take photos ( à la Walker Evans) to capture words on signage yet still visible in our public spaces.
- Lament briefly at what a skinny vocabulary this affords.
- Verbs. Beats. Nouns.
- Build a parser thereby. Give it illocutionary modes (“?” and “!”)
- Make it webby.
- Squeeze it into some competition so people can try it.
- Ignore the critics.
