Every year the r/fantasy subreddit has an annual reading challenge in the form of a bingo card, and alongside my normal books one I’ve been trying to fill a card with IF. I’ve almost completed it! But there’s one square I’m having trouble with:
High Fashion: Read a book where clothing/fashion or fiber arts are important to the plot. This can be a crafty main character (such as Torn by Rowenna Miller) or a setting where fashion itself is explored (like A Mask of Mirrors by M.A. Carrick). HARD MODE: The main character makes clothes or fibers.
I am still unsure as to what counts as high fashion, but Magical Makeover is a good gamp where it (initially) has a lot to do with, well, a sort of fashion.
my major WIP contains, as expected from an Italian, detailed description of garments, and there’s two preview demos available:
but I warn you, the major critique (not always constructive… ) is a bad english, perhaps compounded by the Italian standards of attention to the details.
I made a game called The Magpie Takes the Train that revolves around you switching uniforms to change what you’re allowed to do, and has a series of puzzles where you force someone to remove their accessories (including a scarf and a hat):
I second Melisande’s recommendation for Floatpoint as a game with important clothing elements!
