I’m running my first jam, and I think it’s one that could be of interest to IF authors in particular! Or at least I think the constraint I have in mind is probably going to be less of a hurdle for people who are primarily working with text. This video should explain some of the background:
Long story short, I’ve just released my first ever asset pack (temporarily free through this itch sale - do claim a copy while you can!), and I’m running the Premium Crayon and Kazoo Jam to encourage people to get stuck in and see what they can make with what I’ve provided! The catch is that entries should only use the contents of that asset pack, as far as possible.
I expect that entries will typically be small. It could be a nice opportunity to try making use of images and sound in Twine for anyone who doesn’t ordinarily. Or maybe someone who’s already well experienced with that sort of thing could manage something particularly novel with these assets ready to go? All in all, I just thought it would be worth sharing here.
This is fantastic! How did you do the black border around “GAME OVER”? It doesn’t look like anything directly from the assets but it fits in very nicely.
Haha! This is amazing - even building on an existing template, I’m astounded you managed to get it together so quickly. The colour really makes a difference: it’s super weird playing this and not quite spotting where various things have come from straight away. Is there any chance you could bung it in as an entry on itch for judging?
Ehn, I’m sorry, I’m not an itch user, and the brief bit of time I spent there looking for your jam didn’t motivate me to become one. But I enjoyed spending an evening make a random thing with your assets.
No worries - I’ll be sure to include a link in whatever write-up I do of the event, so people should still be able to find it alongside the other entries afterwards.
