Pixie dust and fairies

I was thinking about a story about pixie dust and fairies

What do you guys think about this?

A scientist discovers the existence of neverland and the scientist created a technology that converge all the pixie dust and pixie fairies from all over the world into a single point. This convergence resulted into a singularity that gives birth to the first fairy that appears on earth.

Upon birth the first fairy causes an explosion that destroys 75% of all life on earth.

Foreseeing the potential danger, the mad scientist had prepared an escape to outer space. Watching from a safe distance, the scientist observed the aftermath of the explosion. Once the chaos had subsided, he returned to Earth, driven by an insatiable curiosity to study the first fairy he had brought into existence.

However, the fairy, born of pure energy and enchanted matter, was uncontrollable. Its power was far beyond anything the scientist had anticipated. As he attempted to approach and study the creature, it reacted violently. In a fatal encounter, the fairy unleashed its immense power, killing the mad scientist who had created it.

After the scientist’s death, the fairy began to fluctuate unpredictably between this reality and another. Each time it appeared, it caused a devastating explosion, obliterating everything it engulfed. The once brilliant creation had become an existential threat, its presence a harbinger of destruction.

One day, after appearing with an explosion, the first fairy was approached by a surviving boy who offered it a place to stay. At this time, the fairy had the intellect of an infant, but its instincts were intact. Trusting the boy, the fairy followed him to a small surviving community.

On the first day in the community, the fairy was exposed to books, radio, and human interactions, rapidly increasing its awareness to an intelligence beyond human comprehension.

Over the next few years, the fairy lived peacefully with the boy.

As the years passed, the first fairy developed deep feelings for the boy and grew close to the small community, hiding its true nature despite its otherworldly beauty. Meanwhile, a private organization, one of the few groups that survived the explosion, discovered the mad scientist’s data about the fairy. Using this information, they developed a synthetic version of pixie dust to help rebuild society and the destroyed world.

The organization discovered the fairy and attacked the small community, threatening to kill the boy. To protect him and the others, the fairy agreed to surrender. But the boy, holding the fairy’s hand, ran away with it. Awed by the boy’s bravery, the fairy didn’t notice an oncoming attack. The boy was fatally injured, and the fairy, overcome with shock and intense emotions of love and surprise, unleashed its powers, nearly destroying the organization, though some managed to escape.

Desperate to save the boy, the fairy tried to heal him, but he didn’t wake up. Realizing the boy was dead, the fairy cried in anguish. After a long thought, it came up with a solution: it kissed the boy, turning his body into light and absorbing it into its own.

The fairy planned to recreate the boy within itself, nourishing and eventually giving birth to him again. However, it knew that even if reborn, the boy would still be mortal. To make him immortal, the fairy decided to give the boy its powers. But a human body is too fragile to accept such powers all at once. If given all at once, the boy’s body would self-destruct.

The fairy decided to give the boy one power: the ability to absorb the powers of a fairy. As the boy grew and matured, he would be able to take the fairy’s powers one by one. The fairy would spread its powers across the world, planting them like seeds in chosen humans, for the boy to collect.

After successfully giving birth to the boy the first fairy left the boy to the care of childless human couple who suddenly saw the boy inside their house alone

the first fairy created the pixie crystals from inside its own body that are endlessly flowing with pixie dust. These crystals, upon physical contact with a human, would transform them into a fairy. However, the crystals were initially incompatible with humans, causing them to lose their sanity and become berserk monsters instead of fairies.

Determined to rectify this, the fairy decided to alter the properties of the pixie crystals to make them compatible with the human body. This required a process of purification, where the crystals had to be handed over to humans repeatedly, slowly becoming purified and safe. However, this purification process came at a great cost, as it required sacrificing humans to harvest the crystals from their bodies before handing them to the next human. The humans who were transformed into fairies did not know anything about the first fairy, and most of them lost their memories in the process.

The first fairy then split itself into three personas, each with a distinct mission but sharing one mind:

First Body: This body became one of the boy’s companions, guiding him in his quest to seal the powers of all fairies.

Second Body: This body infiltrated the private organization, monitoring their actions to ensure they wouldn’t harm the boy.

Third Body: This body took the form of an invisible ghost, searching for talented humans to transform into fairies. It appeared to them in their most desperate moments, promising to fulfill their wishes in exchange for accepting the pixie crystals, unknowingly transforming them into fairies.

In the meantime, the private organization, having discovered the mad scientist’s data, created fae soldiers. These soldiers were humans technologically augmented with artificial pixie dust inside their bodies, granting them superhuman strength and abilities. The fae soldiers were used to help rebuild society and maintain control over the remaining population.

The boy, reborn without any memory of his past life or the first fairy, was left in the care of a childless couple. The first fairy would watch from the sidelines, waiting for the day the boy would reunite with it after reclaiming all the scattered powers.

(MY OWN VERSION OF FAIRIES)

Fairies are supernatural beings who cause an explosion each time they appear in the world. They are unique in their abilities and knowledge.

WINGS- are the absolute armor worn by a fairy. It is the known as the strongest substance in the universe that can nullify attacks and survive of all forms of harsh conditions. Fairies can change their wings to whatever shape, color or style they want.

FLIGHT- all fairies can fly, they do not have wings on their back instead their wings takes the form of an armor that protects them from harm.

PIXIE CRYSTALS - the center core of a fairy and the source of their powers. Blue pixie dust is loaded inside their pixie crystals that pump golden pixie dust throughout their whole body.

Fairies can only be killed if their pixie crystals are removed inside their body in which ONLY THE FIRST FAIRY POSSESSED THE ABILITY TO REMOVE A PIXIE CRYSTALS FROM A FAIRIES BODIES.

However a fairy can be exhausted from prolonged battle if they consume too much of their pixie dust that powers their abilities.

The first fairy created exactly ten pixie crystals from its own body.

The boy- when the first fairy recreated the boy it gave it one ability: to take away a fairies powers by making them fall in love and sealing their powers with a kiss.

When a fairies powers are sealed, 99% of their pixie dust are sealed within the boy in which the fairies will almost undistinguishable from a human and fairies in this point will start to age and can be harm since 99% of their pixie dust is sealed within the boy they cannot use their wings to protect them however…

PIXIE PATHWAY: When the boy seals a fairy’s powers through a kiss, an invisible pathway is established between the fairy and the boy that facilitates the transfer of powers. If a fairy’s emotions become unstable, it can cause the pathway to reverse, causing their pixie dust to return to them and leave the boy. The boy then needs to make the fairy fall in love again to seal their powers.

Most of this could make a good premise for a work of interactive fiction: the fairy powers are quite convoluted as presented, but it could be made to work. I would think about what kind of tone you wanted for the world— is it whimsical, as in Neverland, a gritty post-apocalyptic adventure, a fantasy romance etc.

Also, I would try and make something and then see what issues you run into rather than speculate too much ahead of time.

I think it’s good. And the combination of fantasy and science is new. (Ok it has been done before but it’s still fresh I think.) As I am not so much into romance I can’t say much about that part, but it seems good to me, too.

Similar to what @Joey wrote: You have developed a rich background story, now it’s time to get to the implementation.

A very interesting, albeit slightly weird story.

My first thoughts are not about the story but about how to make this an interactive game. I’m presuming the Boy is the protagonist, although for a lot of the story, the first fairy seems to take the central role.

It’s also not clear how much of it is “backstory” and where the actual game starts. For example it could be when the boy is reborn, or it could be after the fairy splits or it could be that the game starts at the end. Or at one of several places where the plot seems to take an unusual turn.

I think the idea of the “science of fairies” is a good one, and it could be part of the game play involves the discovery of this as the concept of a fairy moves from enchantment to reality.

Then there will be the central game mechanic. That needs to be developed here. it looks like the crystals play a large part in this. But it would need to precipitate into what you actually do, who you meet and what choices you can make and their consequences.

Nice idea. best of luck.

I think it’s very creative. I get a NeverEnding Story vibe with the tone.

Can’t really offer much else with feedback as it seems to be a premise to a game and possibly not the game itself.

The only thing I’ll say is that I like it when the reason for things have an explanation… even the fantastical. If the technology can bend reality and the fairy sort of imprinted on the boy, then it makes sense that something like a kiss could form the catalyst of the conduit. Neurological patterns (emotions) and other such mumbo-jumbo, you know. The scientists studying the phenomenon could point out such things.

I also like using the old ways of spelling things… faeries. But that’s just me.

This reads like a fleshed out idea for sure! I would agree with the previous message that mentioned the Neverending Story, you capture the whimsy and darkness of that narrative quite similarly.

Regarding the interactive elements, the crystals do seem to play an important part in the story. I also feel like a topical/location element could also be incorporated, regarding explosion locations, humans that will be turned to fairies locations (related to the search of them), etc.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and can’t wait to see its direction!
